WCAG 2.2 AA, as a baseline.
Property Claim Guide is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We actively work to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, the recognized international standard for web accessibility.
How we build for accessibility.
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy, landmarks, and ARIA roles.
- Full keyboard navigation support — every interactive element is reachable and operable without a mouse.
- Color contrast ratios meeting WCAG 2.2 AA minimums (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
- Alt text on all meaningful images; decorative images marked with empty alt attributes.
- Form labels programmatically associated with their inputs.
- Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements.
- Responsive design that works at viewport widths from 320px to 1440px and beyond.
- Respect for user motion preferences (
prefers-reduced-motion). - Automated accessibility testing with axe-core on every deployment.
- Skip-to-content link for keyboard and screen-reader users.
Where we still have work to do.
Despite our best efforts, some areas may have accessibility gaps:
- Photo uploads: The drag-and-drop photo upload zone and camera capture button may present challenges for some assistive technologies. We provide a standard file input as a fallback. Camera capture is available only on devices with a rear camera.
- Assessment wizard: The multi-step form uses dynamic content updates. Step transitions are announced via live regions, but the experience may vary across screen readers.
- Charts and visualizations: Future dashboard features that include charts will include text-based alternatives.
- PDF reports: Generated PDF reports aim for tagging and structure, but may not fully conform to PDF/UA standards in the initial release.
Where vendors come in.
Some third-party integrations (Turnstile bot detection, Plausible analytics) provide their own accessibility features. We select partners with strong accessibility commitments where possible, but cannot control third-party component accessibility directly.
