Property Claim Guide collects information you voluntarily provide through the educational assessment form, including:
- Contact information: name, email address, and phone number.
- Property-related information: ZIP code, property type, damage type, timeline, and affected areas.
- Notes or free text you add to describe the damage.
- Photos you attach at the photo step: see how photos are handled below.
- Assessment responses and related form entries.
- Basic technical information: device type, browser, and security logs.
How photos are handled. Photos you attach at the photo step are checked for readability and counted in your browser so your report can note how well your damage is documented, and are shown back to you only in the report on your own device. They are never uploaded to or stored on our servers, are not analyzed by AI, and are not shared with any third-party AI provider. Keep your originals; we cannot return photos to you later. This mirrors our Disclaimer, AI Disclosure, and Data Deletion pages.
What your information powers.
Your information is used to:
- Provide the educational assessment experience.
- Organize submitted damage information.
- Generate educational summaries and broad guidance.
- Help homeowners document information they choose to provide.
- Support pro matching only when the homeowner gives consent.
- Operate, secure, maintain, and improve the website.
Where automation enters the picture.
Property Claim Guide may use automated and AI-assisted tools, running on infrastructure we control, to help organize the information you submit and refine the wording of your educational report. These tools work from your form answers, not your photos: Caro does not currently use any photo-analysis AI, and nothing you submit is sent to third-party AI providers. They do not make insurance coverage decisions, provide legal advice, or replace licensed professional inspection.
Who sees what, and when.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers who help operate the website. We only share assessment details with pros when the homeowner consents to pro matching or submits information for that purpose.
How matching is shared.
If a homeowner requests pro matching, limited assessment information may be shared with eligible Nevada licensed pros based on location, trade fit, coverage area, plan eligibility, and homeowner consent. If you opt in to pro matching, an anonymized summary of your assessment (no name or contact details) may also be shown to additional verified pros. Lead availability and pro availability may vary.
How long we keep records.
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and improve platform reliability. Users may request deletion of eligible information by contacting us.
How your data is protected.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect submitted information. Data is stored with encryption in transit and at rest. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
The vendors we rely on.
We may use trusted service providers for hosting, data storage, security, email delivery, analytics, payment processing, and operational support. These providers are authorized to process information only as needed to support the services.
Access, correction, deletion.
Users may request access, correction, or deletion of eligible information by contacting us at [email protected].
Not directed at children.
Property Claim Guide is not directed to individuals under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
